DLA Piper has appointment Bérénice Wathelet as a counsel to its Public Law practice in Belgium. She joins from EBP where she held the position of executive director and managed a range of public procurement consultancy activities as well as overseeing the growth of its training, seminars and events in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Bérénice brings with her over 12 years’ experience in public procurement and an extensive network of contacts. Before joining EBP, she was a deputy director at the City of Brussels’ Department of Urban Planning where she advised on strategies relating to public procurement, procedures and work methodologies.
Bérénice appointment marks a further strengthening of the Public Law practice in Belgium. She joins a team led by Bob Martens who is well-known and respected figure in the market. The practice is at the forefront of many high-profile public law matters across Belgium, providing services in public procurement, public contracts and concession agreements. It is also particularly active in PPP and state aid matters and has strong regulatory know-how, especially in the energy and environmental sectors.
