Award writing is a skill that can be learned, practised, improved and refined. A well-structured award enhances clarity and conciseness, and helps ensure that the reasoning process is complete. The International Arbitral Award Writing Competition aims to inculcate the qualities of critical thinking and analysis and further seeks to promote skills of interpretation and application of legal concepts to facts and drafting arbitral award.

About of Chambers of Ratan K. Singh:
Mr. Ratan K. Singh heads “Chambers of Ratan K. Singh”. His area of practice includes Arbitration (domestic & international), Construction, Infrastructure, Engineering & Technology Law, Real estate, Commercial Law (Domestic and International), Mining law, etc. He did his Masters in Geology and Bachelors in Law from Delhi University in 1996. He is Fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), UK and has done Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from CIArb (UK). He is the founder Chairman of Society of Construction Law, India. He is also Director of India Branch of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) UK and Member of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Task Force on Dispute Resolution. Mr. Singh is also accredited tutor of CIArb, UK. He is visiting faculty of Indian Society of International Law (ISIL).
Eligibility Criteria
- Any student from a recognised Law College or University may participate in the Competition;
- 5-years course law student
- 3-years course law student
- LL.M. course student.
- No restriction is placed on the number of students representing from each university/ institution.
- Individual participation as well as participation in a team of two i.e. co-authorship is allowed.
Prize:
- The winner shall be awarded INR 4500/- + Certificate of Merit
- The runner-up shall be awarded INR 2500/-+ Certificate of Merit
- The second runner-up shall be awarded INR 1500/-+ Certificate of Merit
- Shortlisted awards will be published with the name of author(s) on the website of LexADR.
- Certificate of Merit would be awarded to the top ten participants excluding top three.
- Certification of participation will be given to all the participants

- Registration fee for the competition is INR 250 only for Single Author and for co-author INR 350 only.
- The registration fee paid by a participant shall not be refunded on any ground.
- Once the registration and payment is done, the team will be allocated a unique team code if the team does not have any team name.
