About the Conference

“I tell the world, ‘Make in India’. Sell anywhere but manufacture here. We have the skill and talent for it,” said Narendra Modi during his maiden speech as PM on August 15^th, 2014.

Make in India launched on 25^th September 2014 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an initiative of the Government of India to encourage multinational and domestic companies to manufacture their products in India. The Make in India program contains major new initiatives which have been specially designed to aid investment, protect intellectual property, foster innovation, and build best-in-class manufacturing infrastructure and also to focus on job creation and skill enhancement in twenty five sectors of the economy. This initiative of the government hopes to increase GDP growth and tax revenue and also to attract capital and technological investment in India. Make in India is PM Narendra Modi’s ambitious plan to make India a manufacturing superpower.

India, the second most populous country in the world have around 1.252 billion people as our human resource, yet the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is 7^th as per the current prices and in terms of Human Development Index (HDI) the nation’s rank is 135^th all over the world. Working under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion which was established in the year 1995 was merged with the Department of Industrial Development in 2000. This department is responsible for formulation and implementation of promotional and developmental measures for growth of the industrial sector and also for intellectual property rights relating to patents, design, trademarks etc.

Today in the twenty first century law and technology are intertwined in certain areas. Merging of technology and law raises interesting techno-legal issues that are not easy to handle and often raises conflict. ‘Make in India’ aims to increase intellectual inventions in the nation and their sale outside. These inventions should be protected by a ‘shroud of law’ and fair practices should be employed. This conference to be held aims to make people critically analyze the ‘Make in India’ policy from a techno-legal perspective, to recognize the efficiency of the policy, appreciate the merits and find out ways to overcome the shortcomings.

Call for Papers

Research papers are invited from the academicians, practitioners, researchers, scholars and students on the issues related to above themes. It is also proposed that the selected papers by the Committee will be published in the form of an edited journal with ISSN No. Author of selected abstracts would be given an opportunity to present their paper as per requirement of the theme during sessions on the day of the Conference.

Abstract Submission: 15^th December, 2015.

Results of Selected Abstracts: 20^th December, 2015.

Last Date of Registration: 20^th December, 2015.

Full Paper Submission: 15^th January, 2016.

Conference: 30^th and 31^st January, 2016.

Top three presentation would be given Trophies and Certificates with Money consideration:

Winner: Rs.25000

1^st Runner-up: Rs.15000

2^nd Runner-up: Rs.10000

Total cash prize is Rs.50000

We would be providing Conference Kit, Food, Accommodation, and Pick-up from Airport, Railway station and Bus Terminal for all participants. Departure of would not be handled by the University.
