Patrick S. Campbell

Milbank LLP is pleased to announce that Patrick S. Campbell, a highly experienced attorney in the connectivity, media and satellite industries, will be joining the Transportation & Space Group in the firm’s Washington, DC office. Mr. Campbell advises media, telecom and Internet companies and investors as well as foreign and domestic satellite operators and customers in regulatory, transactional, and corporate matters, and has significant experience representing communications clients before the Federal Communications Commission. In his legal career, which spans more than two decades, he has worked on a number of major transactions involving global and US-based entities such as Intelsat and SES, some of the world’s largest satellite operators.

“Patrick is an accomplished attorney with extensive industry knowledge, and we’re pleased to welcome him to Milbank. His extensive expertise strengthens the firm’s ability to provide comprehensive advice to our clients in the connectivity, media and space industries,” said Milbank Chairman Scott A. Edelman. “Patrick is well respected for his ability to navigate the communications and technology sectors’ complex commercial and regulatory environment, and his expertise will complement our world renowned space and satellite business representations.”

“With his deep industry knowledge, Patrick has represented numerous communications and media companies and satellite operators in complex negotiations across a range of financial and contractual matters,” said Milbank partner Peter Nesgos. “His specific expertise will complement and expand the Transportation & Space Group’s capabilities on telecom, media and satellite matters for our clients.”

Milbank has consistently been recognized for its world-leading space and satellite business capability. The firm has also won various Deal of the Year awards for its role advising communications companies in landmark, multi-billion-dollar transactions across the globe. Milbank represents and advises prominent international and domestic communications companies and financiers in a wide variety of transactional, corporate and restructuring matters and has conducted leading-edge work in the areas of aviation, space and transportation finance.

“Milbank has advised on landmark transactions for foreign and domestic telecom, connectivity, remote sensing and space infrastructure companies, their suppliers, customers and investors. The opportunity to strengthen the firm’s leading practice and expand its DC office is exciting, and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s ongoing success,” said Mr. Campbell.

Mr. Campbell joins Milbank from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, where he was head of the Communications & Technology practice. He is based in DC, where he has been for more than two decades, and sits on the boards of various DC- and Maryland-based nonprofits. He earned his B.A. degree (cum laude) from Georgetown University and his law degree (with distinction) from Stanford Law School, and served a clerkship under the Hon. Judith W. Rogers, US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. He was also an editor of the Stanford Law Review.

Ranked as a Hall of Fame Leading Lawyer by Legal 500 United States 2019 in the area of telecoms and broadcast transactions, Patrick has “significant experience across the telecoms space” and is a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association.
