Since the release of the promotional video of the film Oru Adaar Love’s Manikya Malaraya Poovi song on YouTube, there has been immense criticism and outrage over it. The film’s director has come out to claim that the song is about the love story between Prophet Mohammad and his first wife.

There were complaints filed claiming that the song hurt religious sentiments of people. It started with an FIR filed by a man in Hyderabad trickling down to multiple complaints in Mumbai by people and organizations. It has been claimed by the complainants that the video of the song is an insult to Prophet Mohammad.

With the outburst of outrage, actress Priya Prakash Varrier, as well as the producer and the director of the film have at last approach the Supreme Court to seek an order quashing the criminal complaints made against them in Telangana and Maharashtra. Adv. Pallavi Pratap, AOR at Supreme Court filed the submission on behalf of appellant that will be heard tomorrow.

With the release of the film Oru Adaar Love due on Eid this year, the decision of the court awaits.
