While the issue of Ryan International school student’s death is still raging, a five-year-old girl was raped by a peon inside a classroom in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area on Saturday.
The incident took place in the premises of Tagore Public School.
The accused, identified as Vikas (40), has been arrested, said Nupur Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shahdara.
Vikas had been working in the school for the last three years. Previously he worked as a security guard there, the police said
The girl, a student of class one reached home in the afternoon. While her mother was changing her clothes she noticed that she was bleeding. She was rushed to a local hospital and now has been shifted to RML hospital. Her condition is said to be in a critical.
“After the doctors observing her, they informed me to call the police and to file a FIR in this matter. I am glad that the police have arrested the accused and would want strict action against him. The school has not yet taken any action on this matter,” Speaking to ANI, the victim’s father said.
The police have registered a case against under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) and are investigating the matter.
