A local district court of Gaya, Bihar convicted Janta Dal United leader’s son Rocky Yadav of killing a 19-year old schoolboy, Aditya Sachdeva for overtaking his SUV in Gaya in May 2016.

Rocky Yadav also known as Rakesh Ranjan is the son of JD-U-MLC Manorma Devi and history sheeter, Bindi Yadav. Police have filed a charge sheet against  Rocky Yadav and another accused in Gaya Court. The police have also filed charge sheet against Bindi Yadav and his MLC mother’s bodyguard, Rajesh Kumar, and cousin, Teni Yadav in the murder case.

Patna High Court granted bail to Rocky Singh but that was eventually canceled by the Supreme Court in October 2016.

On May 7, Sachdeva was with his friends for a drive after finishing his 12th boards. He was driving on Gaya and Bodh Gaya road in his hatchback when he overtook Rocky Yadav SUV. After this, Yadav first fired a warning shot, forced Sachdeva to stop and finally shot him dead.

After absconding for three days, Rocky Yadav was finally arrested on May 10th May.

The quantum of sentence will be pronounced on 5th September. There were four eye-witness of the incident, Aditya’s friend. They all turned hostile during the trial.
