The post of Judge Advocate General in India is held by a major general who is the legal and judicial chief of the Army. The Indian Army has a separate JAG branch which consists of legally qualified army officers. Officers can either be commissioned directly into the JAG Branch or can be sidestepped from other branches, arms or corps. JAG officers provide legal help to the military in all aspects, in particular advising the presiding officers of courts-martial on military law

Course Name: JAG Entry Scheme 19th Course OCT 2017
Number of Vacancies: 14 (Men – 10, Women – 04)
Proposed Salary: A stipend of ₹ 21,000/- p.m will be provided during the Course. Salary and allowances as according to the rank after the completion of the Course.
Age Limit: 21 to 27 years as on 1st January 2018 (Born not earlier than 02 January 1991 and not later than 01 Jul 1997 both dates inclusive).
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 55% aggregate Marks in LLB Degree from an Institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Should be eligible for registration with Bar Council of India/ State.
