The Cell for Studies in Intellectual Property Rights at National Law Institute University, Bhopal in collaboration with School of Law, Western Sydney University, Australia, shall be organising an International Conference on Intellectual Property Law & Policy.

Theme of the Conference:
The main issue that the Conference seeks to address is whether IP law and policies, and laws and policies related to IP law – such as corporate law, are more enabling or disabling to research and development.
Hence, the theme of the Conference is “Intellectual Property Law and Policy: A Device for Research and Development.”
This theme has three sub-themes:
- Whether domestic and international laws relating to (i) copyright, (ii) patents, (iii) trademark, (iv) geographical indications of goods, (v) protection of plant varieties and farmers’ rights, (vi) industrial design, (vii) layout design of semiconductor integrated circuits, (viii) trade secret, and (ix) any other areas of IP law (emerging or otherwise), and related laws help or hinder research and development.
- What can be done to make the existing IP regime, i.e., IP law and policy more fair and equitable?
- What are the moral, philosophical, legal, social, and/or ethical consequences of existing laws?
