ABOUT EVENT

Galgotias University most-awaited and awe-inspiring event is just around the corner. Centre for Human Rights, Legal Aid Society and Centre for Criminal Justice is organizing the National Colloquium ARDHANARISHWARA, on Transgender Rights, to be held on 17th April, 2018 which undertakes the task of creating the ground breaking Transgender and Gender Identity Respect Campaign which would make people more aware about transgender community and gender sensitised. This year Galgotias University is conducting first national “Poster Making Competition & Essay Writing Competition’’. We believe that young students are the future leaders of our nation. They have the sturdiness to their imaginations and views to life. Written communication is an essential element of expression; the ability to articulate oneself through the written word provides one with the opportunity to share their knowledge in a meaningful and effective way. Hence, we request you to take this excellent opportunity to get your creative ideas flowing and allow the writer within you to shine.

THEME– HUMAN RIGHTS OF TRANSGENDER

ELIGIBILITY– Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of any stream studying in any of the recognised College/Department of the University in India.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

For Poster Making Competition are as follows:-

1. Participants must create a poster on the subject “The Rights of Transgender Community”.
2. The Poster can be a painting, drawing, sketch, collage of pictures or combination of any 2 or all but must not be copied.
3. Drawing/painting must be on paper of A3 size (297 x 420 mm) or A2 size (420 x 594 mm).
4. Acceptable tools of drawing/painting include pencil, crayon, water color, oil paint, computer drawing, etc. Photographs, wires, and other 3D objects are not acceptable. The completed artwork must be on a flat piece of paper.
5. The picture of the final creation along with a unique Title should be submitted with the subject line- GU National Poster Making Competition, on LGBT RIGHTS 2018 & details of the candidate must be sent with the filled Registration Form & the soft copy of MONEY SENT VIA PAYTM on the above given no. on or before 11:59 P.M. 15^thApril, 2018.

Rules for Essay Writing Competition are as follows:-

1. Participants must write an essay on the subject “The Rights of LGBT Community”.
2. Participants are allowed to submit one essay only, multiple or incomplete submissions will lead to disqualification. Co-authorship is also not permitted.
3. The paper must be accompanied by a covering email providing the participant’s name, age, address, institutional Identity card and proof of payment of the entry fee.
4. Submission must be the original work of author. Plagiarism would lead to immediate disqualification. All sources and authorities must be acknowledged through footnotes. Original views are strongly encouraged than excessive citation of the published public information.
5. Submitted papers must not have been published previously and must not be offered for publication in any other medium.
6. All submissions must conform to uniform style of citation.
7. Submissions should be neatly typed in size 12, Font Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing, Margins 54 all sides, double line space and not exceeding 2,000-2,500 words in English Language, Excluding footnotes
8. Submission should be made with the subject line- GU National Essay Writing Competition, on LGBT RIGHTS 2018 & details of the candidate must be sent with filled Registration Form & the soft copy of MONEY SENT VIA PAYTM on or before 11:59 P.M. 15^th April, 2018.

RESULTS

The results of the Poster making & Essay Writing Competition will be declared on 17^th April, 2018.

AWARDS

The first, second and third best entries for each competition will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs.5,000/- Rs.3,000/- Rs.2000/- respectively along with the certificate of merit. All participants will be given a Participation Certificate.
